Joseph Cardinal Bernardin (deceased) [A.K.A. "Bernadin"] - long considered –by people who understand their faith– as the highest ranking LIBERAL cardinal in the United States of America.  The dubious honor now goes to Roger Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles.

When the Cardinal was criticized for giving so much Catholic money to this group, he answered that the money did not really belonging to the Church. Someone gave it to him for the purpose of funding CMS. No one in authority has yet pointed out that donating money in such a manner constitutes the essence of money-laundering.

        He was instrumental in the appointment of Msgr. Oscar Hugh Lipscomb to be archbishop of the Province of Mobile covering the states of Alabama and Mississippi.  Archbishop Lipscomb succeeded his mentor Bishop John L. May who was appointed as Archbishop of St. Louis with the influence of Cardinal Bernardin.  Bernardin was also influential in the appointment of Rembert G. Weakland as Archbishop of Milwaukee. 

        A legacy of Cardinal Bernardin was called "Common Ground."  He appointed his protege Archbishop Oscar H. Lipscomb as his successor.

I was just reading your response to Jon on January 13, 2004. I too have heard vague stories about this subject but didn't know all of it was true... it shocks me though that some Satanists have more belief in the Eucharist than some Catholics do. They steal the Eucharist knowing it's Christ, while we recieve it freely and doubt.

        Bernardin, it must be recalled, at least briefly, was sponsored, tutored and promoted by a number of dubious characters, not only his godfather, Archbishop Paul Hallinan of Atlanta, who served as a bishop in Charleston. Bernardin’s other “godfather” was Archbishop (later cardinal) John Dearden, who would be responsible for the appointment of such notorious pro-homosexual bishops as Detroit Auxiliary Tom Gumbleton, Ken Untener of Saginaw, Joseph Imesch, of Joliet, who, recall gave the suffering Catholics of Springfield, IL the loathsome Daniel Ryan.

The Late Cardinal Bernardin Receives Posthumous Masonic Award – By Stephen Vance
        It is no secret that Cardinal Bernardin`s wake and funeral were the subjects of numerous scandals. The Chicago Gay Men`s Chorus provided the musical accompaniment (prearranged by the Cardinal), and Masons in full regalia were pictured in the secular newspapers, as they carried out their "honour guard" role, alongside the body of the deceased Cardinal. It should hardly surprise anyone, then, to learn that Joseph Cardinal Bernardin recently became the posthumous recipient of the Fraternal Order of Masons` "Masonic Order of Galileo Galilei Award". This award - which has been given to the likes of President Bill Clinton and the Dalai Lama in years past - was conveyed upon Bernardin because, as the Masons put it, he was "a man who removed barriers and built bridges of understanding and tolerance." The Masonic leader, Howard Graff, of Illinois, had petitioned the Grand Orient for permission to bestow the award on Bernardin months before the Cardinal had passed away. Bernardin had already agreed to accept the award as a "sign of his commitment to dialogue," before his death.

        Bernardin was widely rumored, as reported in E. Michael Jones’ “Fidelity Magazine” to be slipping into Chicago hospitals in the middle of the night to undergo periodic dialysis to clean his blood near the end of his life. He died with the look of an AIDS victim, and at his funeral the homosexual choir sang, as pre-arranged and pre-approved by Bernardin himself, as well as with a full Masonic color guard at his funeral.
